Why is the upper body important?
When it comes to working out it is a known fact that men tend to stay working out their upper bodies and women tend to focus on their lower half of their bodies. I’m here to explain why working on your whole body is important! The abdominal and back muscular play an important role in stabilizing your upper body. A weak core leads to compensatory movements, thus decreasing your forward propulsion. A strong upper body is essential for guaranteeing an efficient transfer of energy from your body to your legs. Without a proper arm technique cannot provide optimal support to your legs. An efficient running form helps you to run faster and expend less energy.
Different ways. Different results.
I know everyone has different goals when it comes to their work out plans and regiments! So for you ladies trying to not gain to much muscle but want to be gone and fit I have some tips and tricks for you when working out the upper body. For the smaller and toned look you want to make sure you do a lot of reps and not a lot of weight, and the is because when using a lot of weight while doing a lot of reps this is what causes you muscle to expend and grow. While doing simply small weight and lots of reps will challenge the muscle making it stronger but not to bulk up!
Another way for you to get a tighter and toned look would be to use your own body weight! So workouts such as push ups, pull ups, or ropes the list could go on. Now as for you ladies wanting to build that muscular look you would do the opposite of the tone slim look, which is a lot of weights but smaller reps. With in the time span of you doing fewer reps this is crunch time, meaning this is where the muscle is expanding and growing to gain the muscle you are trying to gain!
